April 2010 Kirkby man caught with indecent images of children A MAN was caught with more than 650 obscene images of children. Liverpool crown court heard some of the pictures Paul Craig, 30, viewed involved very young children being abused. Ben Jones, prosecuting, said the images were found when police raided the home Craig shared with his brother on April 10, 2008. Officers found 20 images at the second most severe level. All the pictures had been deleted and Craig, of Melling Drive, Kirkby, claimed he stumbled across them while searching for adult porn. But Mr Jones said search terms relating to children were deliberately typed in and websites involving youngsters accessed. Judge David Harris QC suspended a 26-week jail sentence for two years after accepting the “primary focus” of Craig’s attention were lowest-level pictures.
