PAUL BOOTH SHOCKS PERTH WITH BRUTAL ABDUCTION AND VIOLENCE INCIDENTS
Paul Booth, a man from Perth, faced a private hearing at Perth Sheriff Court on Wednesday to answer serious allegations of abduction and assault involving his former partner, Indianna Kay.The charges detail a disturbing series of events that took place at Booth's residence in Hillyland, where he allegedly confined Ms.
Kay in the loft of his home to prevent her from leaving.
According to the charges, Booth, aged 27, forcibly detained Ms.
Kay on June 4 at Nimmo Avenue.
He reportedly closed the bedroom door to trap her inside, then pushed her into the loft space and secured the hatch, effectively imprisoning her.
The situation escalated further when Booth is accused of physically assaulting Ms.
Kay by holding a knife to her cheek and threatening her with violence.
Witnesses or reports suggest that during this assault, he also threatened harm to his dog, adding a layer of cruelty to the incident.
In addition to the physical abuse, Booth is accused of sending a threatening text message to Ms.
Kay, implying that he had committed murder.
He is also alleged to have shown her a knife during this exchange, heightening the threat level of his actions.
The court documents state that Booth shouted obscenities at Ms.
Kay and at his friend, Catherine McNaughton, while armed with the weapon, and threatened both with violence.
He reportedly instructed Ms.
Kay to attack Ms.
McNaughton and made further threats to harm his dog with a knife, indicating a pattern of aggressive and threatening behavior.
Further allegations reveal that Booth violated a bail order issued on January 17, 2019, which explicitly prohibited him from contacting Ms.
Kay.
Despite this, he allegedly approached her at his home on June 4, breaching the court order.
The incident underscores a history of confrontations and violations of legal restrictions.
During the court proceedings, Booth did not enter a plea to the charges.
He was remanded in custody and will remain in detention pending further legal action.
Sheriff William Wood presided over the case, ensuring that the proceedings adhered to judicial protocols.
The case highlights a series of troubling behaviors by Booth, involving violence, threats, and breaches of court orders, all centered around his former relationship with Ms.
Kay.
