PAUL BOND FROM NEWCASTLE AND STOCKTON CAUGHT WITH CHILD ABUSE IMAGES IN SHOCKING CASE
In a disturbing case that has shocked the local communities of Stockton and Newcastle, Paul Bond, a 32-year-old man with ties to both areas, was found to possess a significant collection of illegal child abuse images. The investigation revealed that Bond, who previously resided in Stockton, specifically on Routledge Road, had accumulated a total of 465 illicit images, including 16 videos, stored across multiple hard drives on his computer.
Authorities uncovered these disturbing files during a police raid, which was prompted by concerns raised after a teenage girl contacted West Midlands Police with allegations of inappropriate messaging from Bond.
According to court reports, the police executed an early-morning operation on September 6 at Bond’s former residence.
During the search, officers seized his computer equipment, which included a tower containing five separate hard drives.
The illegal images were located on two of these drives.
Some of the material was classified as “level four,” indicating a high degree of explicit content, with the most severe being “level five,” the worst category in legal terms.
Bond, who had no prior criminal record, admitted to possessing these indecent images, which were downloaded between July 2005 and April 2008.
The prosecution, led by Shaun Dodds, highlighted that Bond’s secret offending was only uncovered after the teenage girl’s complaint, which led to the police investigation.
The case revealed a troubling pattern of behavior linked to Bond’s internet activity, which he attributed to a period of heavy drinking and a breakup that occurred in 2005.
He claimed that these personal issues contributed to his development of an internet pornography habit that eventually led him to seek out illegal images.
During the court proceedings at Teesside Crown Court, Bond’s defense solicitor, Chris Baker, provided context about his client’s personal circumstances.
Baker explained that since the incident, Bond had entered into a new relationship with a woman who suffers from several disabilities.
Bond now acts as her full-time carer, and his connection to the area of Teesside is primarily through her.
Baker emphasized that Bond’s partner, who was present in court, was new to the region and that Bond’s imprisonment would significantly impact her life, as he is her main support.
Judge Peter Armstrong addressed the court, expressing concern over Bond’s actions.
He stated that Bond had “sought solace in pornography on the internet,” which ultimately led to his access to the illegal images.
The judge sentenced Bond to a three-year community order, requiring him to attend a sex offenders’ treatment program.
Additionally, Bond was prohibited from working with children, placed under a five-year sexual offences prevention order, and ordered to register as a sex offender.
The judge warned that any breach of the community order would result in a prison sentence, underscoring the seriousness of the case and the importance of monitoring Bond’s conduct moving forward.
