BROMSGROVE MAN JAILED FOR RELENTLESS STALKING AND HARASSMENT OF EX-PARTNER
A stalker named Dean Dixon, aged 30, from Birmingham Road, Bromsgrove, has been found guilty of stalking his ex-partner.
He consistently harassed her by bombarding her with numerous phone calls, messages, and unwanted gifts after their five-month relationship ended in October 2019.
Despite her attempts to block his number, Dixon switched to a withheld number and continued his relentless pursuit, including sending around 50 calls in two weeks, leaving roughly 100 voice mails, and contacting her via Facebook Messenger using multiple accounts under different names.
He also threatened to disclose videos that she feared were secretly recorded without her permission, leaving her feeling 'helpless' and anxious.
She took out a non-molestation order in April to stop his harassment.
The victim stated that Dixon's behavior left her anxious and 'helpless,' affecting her health.
Birmingham Crown Court heard that Dixon had previous convictions for harassing two former girlfriends.
Despite being jailed for a year previously for stalking, he resumed his harassment in March 2020.
The court concluded that his actions caused significant distress over a sustained period and that his prior convictions were an aggravating factor.
The judge sentenced Dixon for stalking, emphasizing the considerable anxiety caused to the victim and the impact on her daily life.
