December 2017 Pervert secretly filmed teenagers in the shower A pervert from Deal secretly filmed teenagers in the shower and pestered a young girl with inappropriate messages on social media. Paul Atkins also sent suggestive messages on social media to another girl and asked her for inappropriate photos.  The victim never responded to his messages but instead confided in a friend what had happened and a report was consequently made to the police. When he was arrested in 2015, Atkins admitted to Kent Police officers that they would find illegal footage and stills of two underage girls on his mobile phone. The 37-year-old was sentenced to five years and four months in prison at Canterbury Crown Court on December 12, 2017 for child abuse offences.  He was convicted of two counts of causing a girl to engage in sexual activity, three counts of making an indecent photo of a child and one count of sexual activity with a child.
