In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Hull, Paul Asquith, a resident of Westbourne House on Princes Avenue, was found guilty of heinous sexual offenses involving a young girl. The incident, which took place in June 2017, revealed a pattern of depraved behavior that has left many residents in disbelief.
According to court proceedings at Hull Crown Court, Asquith engaged in a series of disturbing acts against the young girl, including sexually assaulting her and secretly spying on her.
The court was shown evidence that Asquith had also taken explicit photographs of the girl, which he stored on his mobile phone.
Among the most shocking revelations was the discovery of topless images of the girl on Asquith’s device, highlighting the invasive nature of his misconduct.
The court heard that Asquith had sent the girl numerous text messages containing inappropriate and suggestive content, further violating her privacy and trust.
These messages, combined with the physical assault and voyeuristic behavior, painted a disturbing picture of his actions.
During the trial, Asquith’s legal representative explained that his client was in a “wretched state” at the time of the offenses, citing the recent death of his father and a close friend as contributing factors to his mental health struggles.
Despite this explanation, the court emphasized the severity of his actions and the need for appropriate punishment.
In response to his crimes, Hull Crown Court ordered Paul Asquith to register as a sex offender for a period of ten years.
This measure aims to monitor his activities and prevent any potential future offenses, reflecting the gravity of his misconduct and the impact on the young victim and the community at large.
