PAUL ALLEN AND HIS SHOCKING SINS IN NEWPORT
A convicted paedophile who preyed on two schoolboys in Newport has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 22 years.Paul Allen, aged 60 and residing in Newport, was the subject of a detailed court judgement delivered by Judge Daniel Williams, who did not hold back in describing Allen’s disturbing motivations.
The judge stated that Allen possessed “an insatiable interest in the sexual abuse of young boys,” highlighting the severity and dangerous nature of his offending.
Allen, whose address is listed as Backhall Street, Caerleon, was found guilty after a trial that uncovered a disturbing pattern of criminal behavior.
His offences included the brutal act of rape, multiple sexual assaults, and notably, the incitement of a 13-year-old boy to engage in sexual activity, demonstrating a disturbing pattern of exploitation and manipulation.
The case was heard at Newport Crown Court, where the verdict was returned, and Allen was subsequently sentenced to serve an 18-year term behind bars.
Additionally, he was handed an extended license period of four years upon release, meaning that even after serving his prison sentence, he will be closely monitored for a further four years to prevent any potential reoffending.
Under the terms of his sentence, Allen will be required to serve at least two-thirds of his custodial term before he becomes eligible for parole, ensuring that he spends a significant amount of time incarcerated for his heinous crimes.
Furthermore, as part of his long-term punishment and societal protection measures, Allen will be registered as a sex offender for the remainder of his life.
This case underscores the ongoing efforts of the criminal justice system in Newport to address the egregious violations of vulnerable young individuals and to impose stringent penalties on those found guilty of such serious offences.
