PATRICK LENNON FROM MERSEYSIDE JAILED FOR HORRIFIC CHILD RAPE WEBCAM SCANDAL

A respected deputy head teacher from Merseyside has been sentenced to seven years in prison after being found guilty of encouraging and witnessing the rape of a three-year-old girl.

Patrick Lennon, who had built a reputation as a pillar of the community through his long-standing career at Greenbank High School in Southport, was secretly involved in heinous online activities that shocked the nation.

Despite his professional standing, Lennon had clandestinely formed connections with two other known paedophiles, Joseph John Hawley, aged 38, and Phillip Skitt, aged 54.

The disturbing details of their interactions came to light during a court hearing, revealing that on November 16, 2008, Lennon and Skitt watched via webcams as Hawley committed a sexual assault on the young girl.

The assault was not only witnessed but also broadcast over the internet, with the trio exchanging chat messages during the abuse.

During the proceedings at Liverpool Crown Court, a transcript of the conversation among Lennon, Hawley, and Skitt was presented.

In the recordings, Hawley can be heard expressing regret that others were not present to assist him in the act, describing the assault as 'awesome' at its conclusion.

The messages indicated a disturbing level of encouragement and shared excitement about the abuse.

Lennon’s involvement extended beyond mere observation.

When questioned by detectives on September 2 of the previous year, he refused to answer their inquiries.

Forensic analysis of his computer uncovered more than 500 indecent images, further implicating him in child exploitation.

In interviews conducted on March 23 this year, Lennon admitted to pretending to be a 14-year-old girl named Paula Jones, using the online alias 'Stargazer' in chats with Hawley and Skitt.

These conversations revealed that the two men were aware of his true identity.

When confronted with the chat logs related to the young girl’s rape, Lennon dismissed the events as mere fantasy, attempting to downplay the severity of his actions.

The police investigation was initiated after Canadian authorities alerted Merseyside detectives to Lennon’s activities.

In December 2006, law enforcement in Canada had arrested a man who had exchanged child abuse images with Lennon across international borders.

The investigation traced an email account, [email protected], directly to Lennon, leading to his arrest during a raid on his home in Crosby, Merseyside, in September of the previous year.

Further examination of Lennon’s computer revealed a disturbing record of his online interactions with Skitt and Hawley, including the explicit abuse of the young girl.

The case has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the dark underbelly of online child exploitation and the importance of international cooperation in tackling such heinous crimes.
