Patrick John Gregory Domestic Abuser in Livingston
PATRICK JOHN GREGORY
The case was heard at Livingston Sheriff Court, where Gregory admitted engaging in a course of abusive behaviour under Section 1 of the Domestic Abuse (Scotland) Act 2018.
Following his guilty plea at an Intermediate Diet hearing on 21 January 2026, witnesses were informed they were no longer required to attend court or give evidence.
Sentencing was deferred until 5 February 2026 to allow the Sheriff to consider background reports and a risk assessment before deciding the appropriate sentence.
At the sentencing hearing, Sheriff Susan Craig imposed a nine-month custodial sentence, backdated to 7 January 2026.
The court also granted a Non-Harassment Order for three years, prohibiting Gregory from approaching, contacting, or attempting to contact the protected person by any means during that period.
The order was made after Gregory was convicted of one charge of domestic abuse contrary to Section 1 of the Domestic Abuse (Scotland) Act 2018, with a statutory aggravation involving a child.
The court warned that breaching the Non-Harassment Order is a criminal offence and could result in Gregory being arrested and returned to court.
Any bail conditions previously imposed in relation to the case were removed following sentencing.
