Liverpool Rapist Oluseyi Oni Sentenced to 14 Years

LIVERPOOL RAPIST OLUSEYI ONI SENTENCED TO 14 YEARS

A predatory rapist named Oluseyi Oni, aged 36, was convicted of a heinous sex attack in July 2016 that left a female victim pregnant and infected with chlamydia.

Despite being under investigation for rape and having a prior criminal record, Oni was employed as a housing assistant at Prima Group in Liverpool while on bail.

The attack was reported to police immediately, and Oni was arrested and interviewed on suspicion of rape.

However, he continued working and was featured in a company newsletter in August 2017 as a new employee, even after charges were filed against him in April 2017.

Oni's previous convictions include cautions for kerb crawling in 2007, a 2011 conviction for driving without a license, false insurance claims, and failing to surrender, as well as a 2013 nine-month sentence for conspiracy to commit fraud.

Despite this, he was able to secure positions with two housing associations.

Oni was eventually sentenced to 14 years in prison after being found guilty of two counts of rape at Liverpool Crown Court.

The agencies involved in his employment failed to disclose his convictions accurately, and it remains unclear whether he underwent any vetting process that would have prevented his employment given his criminal background.
