NOTTINGHAM BURGLAR SEXUALLY ABUSED VULNERABLE WOMAN BEFORE COCAINE-FUELED POLICE CHASE
A Nottingham resident was sentenced to prison following a series of criminal acts, including the sexual assault of a woman inside his vehicle and the theft of items worth £6,700 from two separate homes.Nooran Nagra, 35 years old, assaulted a vulnerable victim after their initial meeting in Nottingham.
Despite denying the sexual offence, a jury found him guilty after the trial earlier this year.
The assault took place in September 2022, after which Nagra stole electronic goods from two homes over a three-day period during the spring.
He broke into a house on Noel Street, Forest Fields, on April 15 by climbing in through a window, and then entered another on Duke Street, Basford, on April 17 by force.
During both burglaries, he ransacked the properties and stole high-value electronics like a TV, a PlayStation 5, smartphones, a laptop, and speakers.
The total value of stolen items was around £6,700.
Nagra also stole bank cards, which he used fraudulently at local stores.
Fingerprints linked him to the Noel Street break-in, while CCTV evidence identified him at Duke Street.
He admitted to two burglaries and three counts of fraud involving false identities.
His criminal activities escalated when he stole a car and engaged in a high-speed pursuit through Kent in October 2023 while under the influence of cocaine.
He pleaded guilty to charges including dangerous driving, vehicle theft, drug-driving, possession of theft tools, and other driving-related offences.
Nagra, previously living on Austen Avenue in Nottingham, was sentenced to four and a half years in prison at Nottingham Crown Court on August 8.
He was also issued a lifelong sexual harm prevention order restricting contact with vulnerable individuals, disqualified from driving for 47 months, and ordered to pass an extended driving test before driving again.
Detective Constable Tim Townsend of Nottinghamshire Police stated, “Nooran Nagra was directly responsible for multiple serious crimes that caused significant suffering and distress.
Over a span of about 18 months, he assaulted a vulnerable woman, burgled two homes, stole a vehicle, and led police on a dangerous chase while intoxicated.
The burglaries alone would have caused emotional and financial hardship for the victims.
The sexual assault, coupled with his denial, made the trauma worse.
Given the breadth of his offending, the sentence handed down is justified, and we are glad he is now in custody.”
