nooran nagna Sexual Abuser in Nottingham
NOORAN NAGNA
Nooran Nagra, aged 35, assaulted a vulnerable victim following their meeting in Nottingham.
Although he initially denied the sexual assault, a jury found him guilty earlier this year.
The attack took place in September 2022, after which Nagra broke into two homes within a three-day period in spring the following year.
On April 15, he entered a residence on Noel Street in Forest Fields by climbing through a window, and on April 17, he broke a door to access a property on Duke Street in Basford.
During these burglaries, he ransacked the premises and took various electronic devices including a TV, a PlayStation 5, smartphones, a laptop, and speakers.
The total value of stolen items was around £6,700.
Nagra also stole bank cards, which he used fraudulently at nearby stores.
His involvement in the Noel Street break-in was confirmed through fingerprint evidence, and CCTV footage linked him to the Duke Street theft.
He admitted to two counts of burglary and three counts of fraud by false representation.
In October 2023, Nagra also stole a vehicle, leading police on a high-speed chase through Kent while under the influence of cocaine.
He later pleaded guilty to charges including dangerous driving, vehicle theft, drug driving, possessing equipment for theft, and other driving offenses.
Nagra, formerly residing on Austen Avenue in Nottingham, was sentenced to four-and-a-half years in prison at Nottingham Crown Court on August 8.
Additionally, he was subject to a lifelong sexual harm prevention order restricting contact with vulnerable individuals, disqualified from driving for 47 months, and required to pass an extended retest before regaining his license.
Detective Constable Tim Townsend of Nottinghamshire Police commented that Nagra's crimes caused significant harm and distress, highlighting the series of violent and criminal acts committed over a year and a half, including sexual assault, burglaries, car theft, and reckless driving under the influence.
He emphasized that Nagra's actions, especially the traumatic assault on a vulnerable woman and the emotional and financial damage from the burglaries, justified his custodial sentence.
The police officer expressed satisfaction that Nagra is now serving time behind bars.
