NIGEL COLLIER FROM PLYMOUTH SENTENCED FOR ABUSE OF THREE GIRLS IN DEVASTATING CRIME

In a deeply disturbing case that has shocked the community of Plymouth, Nigel Collier, a 59-year-old man, was sentenced to four years in prison after being found guilty of sexually abusing three young girls.

The heinous acts took place over a period from August of the previous year through March of this year, during which Collier repeatedly engaged in indecent acts with the victims, all under the age of 13.

According to court proceedings, Collier, a former soldier, lured the young girls away from their parents on multiple occasions, exploiting their trust and innocence.

The abuse primarily occurred inside his residence, a bed and breakfast near the Hoe, where he allowed the children to play on his computer before subjecting them to his sickening acts.

The court heard that Collier instructed the girls to keep their encounters a secret, further manipulating and controlling them.

One of the most disturbing aspects of the case was Collier’s justification for his actions.

He told one of the victims that his deep kissing on her mouth was “how they kissed in Australia,” attempting to normalize and rationalize his inappropriate behavior.

This manipulation left lasting scars on the victims, with the mother of two of the girls describing her anguish in a heartfelt statement read aloud at Plymouth Crown Court.

She called Collier a “vile, evil, manipulative monster” and revealed that her youngest daughter had begun self-harming by biting herself, a clear sign of the trauma inflicted upon her.

The mother expressed her feelings of guilt and helplessness, describing herself as an “empty shell” overwhelmed by the inability to protect her children.

She lamented the loss of their innocence and the childhood they deserved, emphasizing that her daughters would carry the emotional scars for the rest of their lives.

“The future is very uncertain and the girls will be living with their own life sentence each and every day for the rest of their lives,” she said.

“He has taken away their innocence and deprived them of the childhood I had hoped for them.” Judge Ian Lawrie, presiding over the case, sentenced Collier to four years in prison, stating that his actions had caused lifelong trauma to the victims and their families.

The judge condemned Collier’s manipulative tactics, which allowed him to isolate the girls from their parents and carry out his abuse undetected.

During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Collier had pleaded guilty to 11 counts of sexual assault involving girls under the age of 13.

The Crown Prosecution Service’s representative, Jason Beal, detailed that Collier had kissed the girls inappropriately and touched them indecently beneath their clothing.

He also emphasized that Collier had instructed the victims to keep their experiences secret, further complicating their ability to seek help.

Despite the victims’ initial silence, the older girls eventually confided in their parents, with one of them even showing her mother how Collier had kissed her.

This disclosure led to the authorities becoming involved and the subsequent conviction of Collier, whose address was listed as a bed and breakfast near the historic Hoe in Plymouth.

The case has left a lasting impact on the community, highlighting the importance of vigilance and protection for vulnerable children.
