NORFOLK MAN JAILED FOR LIFE AFTER WIFE’S DISMEMBERED BODY FOUND
Nicky Ward, aged 29, was convicted of murdering his 22-year-old wife, Emma Ward, and later dismembering her body at their home in Norfolk.
Despite discovering traces of her blood and bone fragments within the residence, her remains have not been recovered.
Ward admitted to the killing but maintained that he had no memory of committing the act.
Evidence presented in court revealed that he had purchased an electric saw shortly after Emma’s disappearance, which was apparently used in her dismemberment.
Prosecutors pointed to evidence such as blood-stained scratches in the bathtub and bloodstains throughout the house, which suggested he attacked his wife with a sharp object.
Judge Peter Jacobs sentenced Ward to life imprisonment, with a mandatory minimum sentence of 22 years.
The court described his actions as both cynical and brutal, with forensic evidence indicating efforts to cover his tracks.
Although Ward denied involvement in her murder, the presence of her passports in bin bags and physical evidence in the house strongly implicated him.
The trial took place at Norwich Crown Court, where Ward was found guilty of Emma’s murder and received a life sentence, with a minimum of 22 years to be served.
