ARMY OFFICER TO STAND TRIAL ACCUSED OF SEX ASSAULT AT NORFOLK CLUB
An army officer is to stand trial accused of sexual assaulting a woman at a Norfolk nightclub.
Ruddy, 42, from Dorset, appeared at Norwich Crown Court this week when he entered a not guilty plea to the offence.
It is said to have happened at the Metro nightclub in Dereham - which is now closed - on August 2 last year.
He will stand trial on March 30 2028.
Speaking after the hearing, a British Army spokesman said: "We can confirm Warrant Officer Class 1 Martyn Ruddy appeared at Norfolk Crown Court charged with a sexual offence.
As this is the subject of an ongoing legal proceeding, it would be inappropriate to comment further."
