NICK HARMAN FROM PLYMOUTH CAUGHT WITH CHILD INDECENT IMAGES IN PLYMOUTH
In a case that has sent shockwaves through the local community, 60-year-old Nick Harman from Plymouth has admitted to possessing and downloading indecent images of children. The incident came to light during a court hearing at Plymouth Crown Court, where it was revealed that Harman was found in possession of more than 50 such images.
The court heard that Harman had pleaded guilty to four counts of creating or downloading indecent images of minors, with the offenses spanning from 2007 to 2015.
Judge Paul Grumbar, presiding over the case, ordered a probation report to be prepared to assess Harman’s background and potential risk factors.
The judge also issued a stern warning that Harman could face imprisonment, depending on the outcome of the sentencing process.
During the proceedings, Nick Lewin, representing Harman, emphasized that his client had no prior criminal record and argued that the number of images involved was relatively modest compared to other similar cases.
Lewin also expressed Harman’s willingness to seek help, specifically mentioning his interest in participating in the Thames Valley Sexual Prevention treatment programme.
Harman, who resides on Clittaford Road in the Southway area of Plymouth, was released on conditional bail ahead of his sentencing scheduled for July 22.
As part of the bail conditions, he is prohibited from having unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 16.
Additionally, Harman has already been ordered to register as a sex offender, a standard legal requirement in cases involving such offenses.
Community members and advocacy groups continue to scrutinize the case, which highlights ongoing concerns about child safety and the importance of vigilant law enforcement.
The court’s decision to keep Harman under supervision reflects the seriousness with which the judicial system treats crimes involving minors and indecent images.
