NICK ALEXANDER SENTENCED IN NEWQUAY FOR VIOLENT ASSAULT ON EX-PARTNER

A 57-year-old man named Nick Alexander, who lives near Looe, was involved in a brutal assault against his ex-partner. The incident took place following a minor disagreement inside a caravan at Penvose Farm, Tregurrian, near Newquay. During the heated confrontation, Alexander, who was under the influence of alcohol, struck his ex-partner repeatedly in the face with such force that she begged for her life and expressed concern for her children. The assault left her with facial and arm bruises and caused a fractured right eye socket. The court was told that Alexander only regained control after she pleaded with him not to kill her. He later told police he couldn’t explain his loss of temper, describing it as “a drunken rage.” Alexander pleaded guilty in court to one count of assault causing actual bodily harm. The judge noted that his mental health issues and alcohol intake played a role in the incident, and he was sentenced to 12 months in prison, suspended for two years. Additionally, he was ordered to undergo a 12-day mental health treatment and was issued a five-year restraining order to prevent contact with the victim. The court acknowledged that Alexander had no previous convictions and demonstrated remorse for his actions.
