April 2017 Paedophile hunters catch ‘former council employee’ trying to meet boy, 14, for sex A ‘former council employee’ has admitted his guilt after he was confronted by paedophile hunters after trying to groom a child for sex. ‘The Hunted One’ group exposed Nicholas Mansfield, 38, on camera last year after they set up a sting where they pretended to be a 14-year-old boy. Mansfield had been sending them messages since August 2016 and in one of them wrote: ’14. Young for on here. Lol. What you looking for on here.’ He later added: ‘Fancy meeting up sometime?’ The paedophile hunting group claimed Mansfield tried to meet the imaginary teenage boy on three occasions and sent him sexually explicit images. They added he also promised to bring him cocaine and alcohol. Mansfield, from Tallis Court, Romford, Essex, admitted attempting to meet a child following grooming and not reasonably believing the child was over 16 years. Judge Sheelagh Canavan adjourned sentence until May 10 and told Mansfield: ‘What you pleaded guilty to is a very serious offence. ‘I want to know what risk you pose to children. ‘I’m making no promises whatsoever about custody.’ According to The Hunted One group he worked for Havering Council as a transporter for disabled children, although comments on the site say he was sacked two years prior.
