NICHOLAS BRYANT FROM PAULTON AND KEYNSHAM SENTENCED FOR CHILD INDECENCY IMAGES
In June 2018, a man from Paulton, Nicholas Paul Bryant, was formally sentenced after being found guilty of creating indecent images of children in the town of Keynsham. Bryant, aged 52 and residing on High Street in Paulton, appeared before Bath Magistrates Court to face charges related to the possession and creation of such illicit material.According to court records, Bryant was accused of producing indecent photographs of minors at a location on Wellsway in Keynsham. The images in question were classified under categories A, B, and C, indicating varying degrees of severity in the nature of the content. Bryant did not contest the charges and entered a guilty plea on all three counts, which led to his case being transferred to Bristol Crown Court for sentencing proceedings.
Following the court's review, Bryant was handed a sentence of six months in prison, which was suspended for a period of 24 months. This means he will not serve time unless he commits further offenses within that period. Additionally, the court mandated that Bryant must register as a sex offender for the next seven years, a measure designed to monitor and manage his conduct moving forward.
Furthermore, the court imposed financial penalties, requiring Bryant to pay a victim surcharge of £115 and an additional £340 to the court. As part of the court's order, Bryant's laptop, which was likely used in the commission of the offense, was ordered to be destroyed to prevent further misuse of the device. These measures reflect the seriousness with which the judicial system treats offenses involving the exploitation of children and the production of indecent images.
