2013: WORCESTER MAN GUILTY OF SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST CHILDREN JAILED FOR LIFE
A WORCESTER man found guilty of 13 sexual offences against children, including rape, has been sentenced to life in prison.
Neville Parker, aged 62 and previously of Lear Close, Dines Green, was given a life sentence at Worcester Crown Court today of 22 years after being found guilty on March 13 of the offences committed over several years.
The judge ordered he must serve at least 11 years before parole consideration and will have to sign the Sexual Offenders Register for the rest of his life.
His partner Gemma Robertson, aged 31, was also tried with Parker and sentenced to six years after being found guilty of cruelty to a girl under 16, relating to an incident between February 2005 and February 2006 when she failed to protect a girl aged between five and six from Parker's sexual assault.
Parker’s offences involved young children between 1969-1975 and 2005-2007, including two counts of inciting young children aged 3 to 5 to engage in sexual activity, sexually assaulting a boy aged 3 to 5 twice, and three counts of raping girls under six.
Additionally, he was convicted of indecently assaulting two girls under 13 on multiple occasions, offences classified as rape under current laws, occurring between 1969-1975.
Detective Constable Michelle Cook, the investigating officer, stated that the victims, including three children still young, endured a long and challenging process leading to these convictions.
She highlighted the victims' support and the difficulty they faced reliving their experiences during the trial, with some suffering up to 40 years of trauma.
