TRUCKER GUILTY OF STALKING WOMEN ON DATING SITE
Neil Craig, a 41-year-old trucker, was found guilty of stalking women he met on Plenty of Fish after they attempted to end their relationship with him.He harassed two women, Lorna Gilchrist and Amanda Thomson, through incessant texts, voicemails, and uninvited visits to their homes.
Neil Craig's behavior included calling one victim 20 times within two hours, refusing to leave her property when asked, and sending multiple derogatory messages.
He also appeared unannounced outside one woman's residence and continued to pursue her even after she tried to cut ties.
The court heard that both women felt 'alarmed and fearful' due to his persistent and manipulative conduct, which caused significant emotional distress, leading to anxiety medication and work-related health issues for one victim.
Craig denied all charges but was ultimately convicted after a three-day trial at Stirling Sheriff Court.
The judge stated that while Craig did not intend to cause fear, his actions were enough to alarm the victims, and he should have known his behavior would have that effect.
Sentencing was deferred until February 15 for further reports.
An insider commented that Craig thought he was a catch on Plenty of Fish but was actually a 'clinging limpet' who caused distress to these women.
