NEIL CALVERT FROM BISHOP AUCKLAND SENTENCED FOR GROOMING AND CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

In August 2015, Neil Calvert, a resident of Bishop Auckland, was handed a prison sentence of three years following a series of serious criminal offenses involving a vulnerable 12-year-old boy. The court found that Calvert had engaged in grooming behavior, targeting the young boy despite clear warnings and cautions issued to him not to have any contact with the child.

Calvert, who was 50 years old at the time, did not cease his inappropriate communication even after being cautioned. Instead, he continued to maintain contact with the minor, demonstrating a blatant disregard for the warnings issued by authorities.
