NEIL BUCK FROM PLYMOUTH SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX ABUSE AND INDECENT IMAGES
In a case that has shocked the local community of Plymouth, Neil Buck, a resident of Valletort Road, was brought before Plymouth Crown Court to face charges related to the sexual abuse of children and possession of indecent images. The proceedings revealed a disturbing pattern of criminal behavior that spanned several years, culminating in a comprehensive sentencing that reflects the severity of his crimes.
Neil Buck, aged 50, pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including four counts of making indecent images of children, one count of sexual assault on a child under the age of 13, and one count of taking indecent photographs of children.
In addition, he admitted to possessing five counts of indecent images of children and engaging in sexual activity with a minor.
The court was informed that Buck’s devices contained over 400 indecent images of children, a disturbing collection that included images classified across different levels of severity.
Specifically, authorities found approximately 300 images categorized as level one, which is considered the least serious, alongside a single image classified at level five, the most severe category.
Among these was an extreme image, further highlighting the depravity of his actions.
The evidence presented painted a picture of a man who had deliberately sought out and stored material of a highly disturbing nature.
During the sentencing, Judge Miranda Robertshaw described Buck as a “mature man who knew what he was doing,” emphasizing the calculated nature of his offenses.
The judge also condemned his “perverted and deviant behavioral attitude,” underscoring the gravity of his misconduct.
Buck’s criminal activities and possession of such a vast collection of indecent images demonstrated a clear breach of societal norms and the law.
As a result, Neil Buck was sentenced to a total of two years and eight months in prison.
However, considering the time he had already spent in custody on remand—91 days—his remaining sentence will be reduced accordingly.
Upon release, Buck will be subject to a license condition, and he has been explicitly ordered never to contact or establish relationships with anyone under the age of 16, in an effort to prevent any further harm.
This case serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing efforts by law enforcement and judicial authorities to combat child exploitation and protect vulnerable minors from predators operating within communities like Plymouth.
