NEIL BRETTON FROM STUARTFIELD CAUGHT WITH OVER 9,000 CHILD INDECENT IMAGES IN SHOCKING CASE

A man identified as Neil Bretton, residing in Stuartfield, has narrowly avoided imprisonment after being found guilty of possessing a staggering collection of over 9,000 indecent images of children. The case was heard at Peterhead Sheriff’s Court, where Bretton faced serious charges related to the possession of these illicit materials.

According to court records, Bretton was convicted on two counts of possessing indecent images of children. The authorities revealed that the devices seized from him contained a total of 9,337 images along with two videos. The content depicted young girls, primarily school-aged between 10 and 13 years old, in sexually explicit poses. Some images were classified at the most severe levels, involving acts of sexual penetration, torture, or sadism, highlighting the disturbing nature of the material.

The presiding judge acknowledged that this was Bretton’s first offense, which played a role in the court’s decision. Despite the gravity of the images, most fell into the least serious category, which influenced the sentencing. Instead of jail time, the court imposed a community payback order, requiring Bretton to undertake community service. Additionally, he was ordered to be on the sex offender register for a period of three years and was mandated to participate in therapeutic programs coordinated with social services to address his behavior.
