A man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison along with an extra year on extended licence after being found guilty of abusing and raping a young girl.
Neclp Uslu, aged 45 and residing on Fore Street in Pool, was sentenced at Truro Crown Court by Judge Simon Carr on July 3.
The jury convicted him of six counts of touching a girl under 13, two of sexual penetration of a girl under 13, and one of raping a girl under 13.
He will also be placed on the Sex Offenders' Register for life.
The case was brought to light after the victim disclosed the abuse at her school, leading to a police investigation.
Uslu, a Turkish citizen, was arrested at Stansted Airport while returning from Turkey and was taken into custody at Exeter.
He was questioned by police, during which he denied any sexual offences against the girl.
The court heard how Uslu targeted the victim multiple times over a period.
