June 2018 Luton pervert jailed for child abuse images offences and messaging children online A depraved man from Luton has been jailed for 12 months for sending explicit messages to a child online and possessing over 2,000 child sexual abuse images. Nathaniel Leather, 24, was sentenced at Luton Crown Court after being found guilty of several sexual offence charges Two counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child Attempting to cause a child to watch a sexual act Three counts of possession of indecent images of children Possession of an extreme pornographic image Leather had contacted what he believed was the online profile of a child. Leather sent a string of sexual messages and showed a sexual interest in a eight year old sibling of the child. Leather who worked as security in a local cinema sent several images of his manhood to what he believed was a 14-year-old girl The court was told that the child was actually an adult member of an online child protection team called ‘Predator Hunters London’ On his arrest, his phone was seized and officers downloaded more than 2,000 images – including some of the most serious category showing the rape and torture of children Leather, of Hillcroft Close, will also be the subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) for five years, which has conditions attached that he must adhere to following his release.
