FAREHAM MAN NATHAN MORTON CAUGHT WITH HUNDREDS OF CHILD INDECENT IMAGES AND MOVIES IN PORTSMOUTH
In a serious case that has shocked the community of Fareham, Nathan Morton, a 29-year-old resident of Bath Lane, faced the court on charges related to the possession and creation of a significant number of indecent images and videos involving children.The allegations against Morton came to light during a court hearing at Portsmouth Crown Court, where he appeared to admit guilt on multiple counts.
According to court records, Morton pleaded guilty to six counts of producing indecent images, which included a total of 330 photographs and 72 videos.
These crimes were committed over a period spanning from December 12, 2012, to October 31 of the previous year.
In addition to these charges, Morton also admitted to possessing two indecent photographs and two indecent movies of children, with these acts also occurring within the same timeframe.
The court was informed that Morton’s actions were serious violations involving the exploitation of minors, and the evidence presented was substantial.
As part of the court proceedings, Judge Roger Hetherington ordered Morton to register as a sex offender, a standard legal requirement for individuals convicted of such offenses.
Despite the gravity of the charges, Morton, who has no prior criminal record, was released on bail pending the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
The judge emphasized the importance of this report in determining the appropriate sentencing.
Morton is scheduled to return to Portsmouth Crown Court next month for sentencing, where the full extent of his punishment will be decided based on the report and the court’s assessment of the case.
