NATHAN MODLINSKY'S HORRIFIC CRIMES IN LEIGH LEAD TO 15-YEAR SENTENCE

A man with a disturbing history of violence and abuse has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after a series of heinous crimes committed in Leigh. Nathan Modlinsky, whose previous convictions included assault and coercive behaviour, faced a new wave of serious allegations that have now resulted in a significant custodial sentence.

Modlinsky’s criminal record initially gained public attention in October 2022, when he was sentenced to three years behind bars for assaulting an ex-partner during the summer months of July and August 2021. The assault was characterized by violent acts, including choking and physical violence, which left the victim traumatized. Court proceedings at that time also revealed that Modlinsky’s misconduct was compounded by an unrelated driving offence, which contributed to his overall sentence.

During the court hearing, he was described by the judge as a 'jealous' and 'toxic' individual, with evidence showing that he had punched a victim and physically dragged her by the neck. The most alarming aspect of his violence was when he wrapped his hands around her throat, an act that demonstrated a dangerous level of aggression. As a result, the court decided to impose an additional 17 months of imprisonment, to be served consecutively with his existing sentence, reflecting the severity of his actions.

Recently, Modlinsky appeared before the court once again, this time facing a series of ten new charges that included two counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault, five counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and one count of controlling and coercive behaviour. These allegations paint a disturbing picture of ongoing abuse and predatory conduct. The Manchester-based Minshull Street Crown Court sentenced him to a total of 15 years in prison for these offences. The sentence comprises 11 years of imprisonment, with an additional four years on extended licence, ensuring he remains under supervision upon release.

In addition to his prison sentence, Modlinsky was ordered to register as a sex offender indefinitely, a measure that underscores the gravity of his crimes. He was also subjected to a restraining order that will remain in effect for ten years, prohibiting him from contacting or approaching one of his victims. The court’s decision reflects the serious concern over his continued threat to public safety and the need to protect victims from further harm. The case highlights the ongoing issues of domestic abuse and sexual violence, particularly in the Leigh area, and serves as a stark reminder of the importance of justice for victims of such heinous crimes.
