NATHAN GRIBBLE SENTENCED IN TRURO FOR STALKING EX-PARTNER

Nathan Gribble, aged 47 and described as emotionally immature, engaged in persistent stalking of his former partner over several months following the end of their two-year relationship. During a sentencing hearing at Truro Crown Court, it was disclosed that Gribble refused to accept the breakup and continued to intrude into her life. He repeatedly sent messages and made calls, appeared outside her children's school during pickup times, and attended events she was present at, despite being on conditional bail not to contact her. The victim found a nail in her tyre after a day out at the Charlestown Regatta. Gribble later claimed he had taken an overdose of pills while professing his love for her, despite her interaction with other men. He also left unwanted gifts at her home, including flowers and an engagement ring, with messages expressing love. Further disturbing behavior included peering through her windows, accessing her social media accounts, and following her to a pub and holiday park, sometimes fleeing when recognized or spotted. This stalking continued from July to mid-October 2023, even after his arrest in September. The victim told the court she was “constantly looking over my shoulders” and nearly had an accident, believing he was following her. Her children were also heavily impacted by the ordeal. His defense highlighted mental health issues and lack of remorse, with his solicitor claiming his actions were coincidental or driven by mental health problems. Gribble, with no previous convictions, pleaded guilty to one charge of stalking. The judge sentenced him to four months in prison, suspended for two years, and imposed additional conditions including a 30-day activity program, five days of rehabilitation, and a restraining order prohibiting contact with the victim.
