NATHAN BROWN

In October 2015, Nathan Brown, aged 23 and a resident of Grove Road, Sutton in Ashfield, was convicted for engaging in sexual acts with a girl under 16.

The court at Nottingham Crown sentenced him to four years behind bars and a three-year probation period on October 22.

Brown admitted to committing five sexual offences involving a minor and to producing eight indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children.

The crimes occurred over a period from May 2013 to August 2015.

He was also ordered to register as a sex offender indefinitely and to comply with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which remains in effect.

In 2021 police discovered Brown in possession of over 1,000 indecent images and videos of minors when they arrested him in a car.

Some of the videos, including a disturbing 20-minute clip, showed a young child aged six to nine being abused, with the child trying to escape but being restrained.

The collection mainly featured children aged between three and 12 years, with most being female and including pre-school and primary school age minors.

It also contained extreme videos involving animals.

Brown’s arrest on January 8 was prompted by a warrant for his recall to prison, and police identified him while he was driving.

When approached at traffic lights at Woodhouse Way, Nuthall, Brown failed to stop and collided with a police vehicle.

Devices seized during the arrest contained large quantities of illegal content, breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Brown’s criminal history includes 19 convictions for 40 offences, with previous charges dating back to 2011.

In 2019, he served a year in custody for similar offences.

Now 29 and living in Ilkeston, Brown had previously served jail time as a juvenile for sex offences and was registered as a sex offender.

During his court hearing, he admitted to possessing the illicit images, breaching the order, and driving carelessly.

Diagnosed with ADHD and autism, he was described as intelligent and insightful into his offences by his mitigation.

His remorse was evident, and the court sentenced him to 18 months in prison, with an 18-month driving ban.

His recall to prison is scheduled until August of the following year.
