NATHAN ALI SENTENCED IN NEWCASTLE FOR CHILD RAPE
Nathan Ali, aged 22 and from Bridant Road, London, was convicted of raping a girl he believed to be older.The incident occurred after Ali and the victim, whom he met at a Newcastle McDonald's, engaged in a conversation about Snapchat.
Ali then took her to a student house where his ex-girlfriend lived.
Despite believing she was 17, Ali admitted that the girl was under 13.
Ali admitted to having sex with the girl to make his former partner jealous.
According to the prosecution, Stephen Littlewood, Newcastle Crown Court was told that Ali entered the student house multiple times without permission following the breakdown of his relationship with one of the residents.
Court proceedings revealed that Ali and the girl went to the house in Newcastle and that Ali had been there three to four times.
During the incident, Ali and the girl were discovered in bed when his ex-flatmate and her roommate returned home.
The women found Ali naked in bed with the girl, who was wearing only a top and no underwear.
They immediately suspected her age and contacted the police.

Littlewood explained, “They discovered the defendant, naked in bed, along with the victim, who was wearing a top but no underwear.
They formed the opinion she was a child aged around 14 or 15.
He had no right to be in the property.” Ali claimed his intention was to provoke jealousy in his ex-partner, but the court found the other women believed the girl was significantly younger.
Judge Robert Adams sentenced Ali to four and a half years in prison, with an additional year on extended licence.
Although Ali claimed he thought the girl was 17, the judge noted that the women at the house believed she was around 14 or 15 and that she looked “young.” Judge Adams stated, “You say your intention was to make your ex partner jealous.
She was one of the people who found you in her flat.” He further remarked, “The two females immediately formed the view she was a child.” As part of the sentence, Ali is to sign the sex offenders register for life, adhere to a sexual harm prevention order for ten years, and he received a five-year restraining order against his ex-partner.
The court was told that Ali had no previous criminal record and is considered an “intelligent man.” Defense lawyer Paul Cross argued that Ali believed the girl was willing and 17 years old at the time.
He added, “This was a young man thinking he was having sexual intercourse with a 17-year-old, who was willing to have sex with him.” Cross also noted that the girl did not appear as young as her actual age.
