READING SEX OFFENDER MUHAMMAD SOHAIL ARSHAD SENTENCED FOR BRUTAL ASSAULT IN BERKSHIRE
Following a thorough investigation conducted by Thames Valley Police, Muhammad Sohail Arshad, a man from Reading, has been formally convicted and sentenced for a disturbing sexual assault that took place in Berkshire.The case drew significant attention due to the nature of the crime and the breach of trust involved.
On February 13th, Muhammad Sohail Arshad, aged 37 and residing on Oxford Road in Reading, was handed down a sentence of seven years and six months at Reading Crown Court.
This sentencing reflects the severity of his actions and the impact on the victim.
In addition to his prison term, Arshad was subjected to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order, a legal measure designed to restrict his future conduct and protect the community.
Furthermore, he was permanently registered as a sex offender, ensuring ongoing monitoring and public awareness of his status.
The conviction followed Arshad’s admission of guilt last month to a charge involving sexual behavior with penetration against a woman suffering from mental illness.
The case specifically concerned the assault of an elderly woman who was battling dementia and was residing in a care facility within Berkshire.

She stated, “Muhammad Sohail Arshad has justly been incarcerated for what can only be characterised as a heinous crime.” She further emphasized the betrayal involved in the case, saying, “Muhammad Sohail Arshad occupied a position of trust intended for the care of individuals; he reprehensibly violated this trust and assaulted an elderly woman, believing he would evade detection.” The case has left a profound impact on the victim and her family, who are described as devastated by the events.
Detective Corscadden acknowledged their suffering and expressed her gratitude for their support and resilience throughout the investigation.
She also noted the emotional toll of the crime, stating, “I wish to express my gratitude for their support and fortitude during our investigation; however, I recognize that even the sight of Muhammad Sohail Arshad incarcerated will not alleviate the profound trauma of the events that transpired.”
