MIHAI MARIAN SENTENCED TO EIGHT YEARS FOR RAPE AND ASSAULT IN STAFFORDSHIRE

Mihai Marian, commonly known as “Mike,” a 43-year-old man with no fixed address, was handed down a significant prison sentence at Wolverhampton Crown Court on June 20, 2025. The conviction followed a detailed trial held at Stafford Crown Court the previous month, during which the court found Marian guilty of multiple serious offenses. As part of his punishment, Marian has been ordered to register on the UK’s Sex Offenders Register, reflecting the gravity of his crimes and the need for ongoing monitoring.

In the autumn of 2024, Marian committed a heinous act by raping and sexually assaulting a woman in Staffordshire. The assault was brutal and left a lasting impact on the victim. This was not an isolated incident; Marian also sexually assaulted another woman during a separate encounter, during which he forcibly applied a cigarette butt to her back, causing physical harm and emotional trauma. These acts of violence and sexual misconduct drew the attention of law enforcement authorities.

Following these incidents, Leicestershire Police launched an investigation into Marian’s activities. Their efforts culminated in his arrest after he was linked to a different case of rape and sexual assault that occurred in October 2024. The police’s pursuit of Marian was driven by the need to ensure justice for the victims and to prevent further harm.

During the sentencing, the court imposed a total of eight years in prison for the rape conviction, four years for the sexual assault, and an additional six months for causing actual bodily harm. All these sentences are to be served concurrently, meaning Marian will serve the combined time as a single term of imprisonment.
