MICHAEL ROUF FROM TREVETHIN SENTENCED FOR CHILD INDECENCY IMAGES AT GWYNLLYW SCHOOL

Rouf, aged 25 and residing on Church Avenue in Trevethin, faced the consequences of his actions in Newport Crown Court. The court sentenced him to a three-year Community Order, a form of supervised rehabilitation, and mandated that he register as a sex offender for a period of five years. “We are sorry to have to inform you that Mr Michael James Rouf, who worked as a cleaner at Ysgol Gyfun Gwynllyw, has this week been sentenced for possession of indecent images of children,” the letter stated. The school emphasized that Rouf had been suspended from his duties since the authorities became aware of the case, underscoring the institution’s commitment to safeguarding and child protection. The incident has raised serious concerns among parents and staff, prompting a review of safety protocols and safeguarding measures at the school to prevent any future occurrences.
