HALIFAX MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO DOMESTIC ASSAULT AND THREATS
Michael Robertshaw, a 44-year-old man currently residing on Douglas Street in Halifax, was involved in serious domestic violence incidents against his wife.During the assaults, he threw a can of beer at his frightened wife, hitting her on the head, then grabbed her by the hair and struck her.
The following day, while intoxicated, Robertshaw spit at her in the face and made threats to kill her with a gun.
He also threatened to stab her with a knife.
Part of the abuse was recorded on the victim's mobile phone, which captured some of the threatening行为.
Jess Lister, prosecuting, described the assaults as serious, highlighting threats to kill and use of a weapon.
Although Robertshaw has no previous violent convictions, he has an alcohol issue.
His solicitor, Sajid Majeed, stated that he has no recollection of the events and no reason to dispute the victim's account.
The court ordered a probation report to consider sentencing options, including custody.
Robertshaw is scheduled for sentencing on December 18 and is currently under bail conditions not to contact the victim or visit their marital home.
