MICHAEL PAULE OF DAGENHAM JAILED FOR HISTORIC SEXUAL OFFENCES

In February 2019, Michael Paule, aged 66, of St George’s Road, Dagenham, was sentenced to 10 years in prison after being convicted of historic child abuse offences. The sentencing occurred on Friday, 15 February, at Snaresbrook Crown Court. Paule was found guilty on Thursday, 7 February, by a jury of four counts of historic rape of a female under 16 and three counts of indecent assault on a girl under 14.

The court heard that Paule had sexually abused a girl, who was under 10 years old and known to him, at an address in Dagenham over a period of three years during the late 1980s and early 1990s. The victim first reported the offences to police in November 2016.

Following this, Paule was arrested and interviewed at an east London police station in September 2017, during which he denied all allegations. He was formally charged with the offences on 7 July 2018.
