MICHAEL NEYE-WILLIAMS AND HIS SHOCKING CHILD ABUSE IMAGES IN NEWPORT

A man from Newport, Michael Neye-Williams, was discovered to possess highly disturbing content involving child abuse and bestiality on his mobile device.

This serious crime has shocked the local community and prompted a detailed investigation by authorities.

Neye-Williams, who resides on Birch Grove in Llanmartin, was apprehended on January 19 last year after police located him near his workplace in Avonmouth.

Law enforcement officers attempted to make contact with him at his home but were unsuccessful.

Subsequently, they stopped him at the site, a lorry in Avonmouth, and took him into custody.

Faced with the police, Neye-Williams cooperated fully by handing over his mobile phone and providing the Personal Identification Number (PIN), indicating he was aware of the incriminating content stored on it.

During initial questioning, he allegedly told officers that they would find indecent images of children on his device.

An examination of the phone's contents revealed a disturbing catalogue of illegal and highly inappropriate material.

Among these were a graphic video depicting a man engaging in sexual acts with a girl estimated to be between 10 and 13 years old.

Investigators also uncovered numerous images showing young girls exposing themselves and performing sexual acts with adult men.

The severity of the material was significant.

The police found one video classified as Category A, which is considered the most extreme level of illegal content, along with one image and one additional video classified as Category B.

Additionally, they discovered fourteen images categorized as Category C, which indicates a lower but still concerning level of indecency.

Beyond the child exploitation content, officers also found seven images that fell into the category of extreme pornography, depicting adults engaging in sexual acts with live animals.

These discoveries further highlighted the heinous nature of the material stored on Neye-Williams' phone.

Prosecutor David Pugh informed the court that there were also 46 'indicative images' on his device.

Although these images did not cross the threshold into illegality, they were deemed inappropriate and concerning.

Furthermore, internet search terms related to illegal activities, such as 'jailbait' and 'teen s***s,' were also identified, raising additional alarm.

During police interviews, Neye-Williams maintained that he 'did not have sexual interest in children.' Witnesses noted that he appeared remorseful throughout the proceedings.

It was also mentioned that he has no prior criminal convictions.

Gareth Williams, representing the defence, stated that the defendant admitted to the charges promptly and cooperated fully with law enforcement officials.

The mitigation also emphasized that Neye-Williams expressed remorse for his actions.

In sentencing, Judge Neil Bidder issued a 36-month community order against Neye-Williams.

As part of this sentence, he is required to complete the Horizon programme, a specified rehabilitation course, and undertake 30 days of additional rehabilitative activities.

Additionally, Neye-Williams was subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which imposes restrictions aimed at protecting the community from future risks.

He is also mandated to register as a sex offender for a period of five years, ensuring ongoing monitoring and oversight by authorities.

This case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat child exploitation and related crimes, and serves as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilant internet monitoring and legal enforcement in safeguarding vulnerable populations.
