MICHAEL MCSHANE SHOCKS LLANDAFF WITH ALLEGED CHILD ASSAULT AND PUBLIC INDECENCY

A man identified as Michael McShane, who has an extensive criminal history including 20 sex offences, has been accused of a series of disturbing incidents outside a primary school in Llandaff. According to court proceedings, McShane allegedly assaulted a two-year-old child and engaged in public indecency by exposing himself in a highly inappropriate manner.

Witnesses reported that McShane's actions were both aggressive and alarming as he targeted young children and their mothers during a routine school pickup. The incident unfolded at Danescourt Primary School in Llandaff, where McShane was seen picking up a stranger's young child and behaving in a threatening manner towards the mothers present. Eyewitnesses described how he bent down to interact with two infants in a double buggy, swung a two-year-old into the air, and physically grabbed a young mother by her hips from behind in a manner that caused significant distress.

Further reports indicate that McShane attempted to gain entry into another mother's vehicle, raising concerns about his intentions. During this encounter, he also exposed himself by opening his trousers in a blatant act of indecency. The situation escalated to the point where two courageous mothers, who were on the phone with police officers, decided to follow him to ensure he was monitored and stopped. One of these mothers recounted how she was sitting in her car when she saw McShane staggering and trying to enter her vehicle, prompting her to shout for others to cross the road for safety. Another mother described how McShane had lifted her two-year-old off the ground and tried to hug other children, actions that left parents and children alike in shock and fear.

Michael McShane, aged 52 and of no fixed address in Cardiff, has denied two counts of common assault and one count of exposure. The mothers involved in the incident have firmly rejected any suggestion that they misidentified him, asserting their confidence in recognizing him. The case remains active in the judicial system as authorities continue their investigation into these serious allegations.
