MICHAEL HILL FROM HEREFORD SENTENCED FOR CHILD RAPE IN NOVEMBER 2014

In November 2014, a deeply disturbing case came to light involving Michael John Hill, a 61-year-old unemployed man from Hereford, who was convicted of raping his own daughter multiple times. He appeared before Hereford Crown Court where he admitted to four counts of rape against a child under the age of 13.

The court was informed that the abuse began when the girl was just four years old and continued for nearly ten years, until the girl reached the age of 13. It was at that point that Hill told her he no longer had any sexual interest in her, and the abuse ceased.

Throughout the police investigation and prior to his trial, Hill denied the charges. However, less than an hour before the court proceedings were set to begin, he dramatically changed his stance and pleaded guilty. His admission to the four child rape counts was accepted by the prosecution, who also decided to leave four additional counts of indecent assault on a child on file.

Michael Hill was subsequently sentenced to a total term of 13 years and six months in prison. The court also ordered that Hill would remain on the sex offenders register for life.
