MAN ASKED CHILDREN FOR 'NAUGHTY PICS' IN APP SEX CHATS
A MAN who sent sexual messages to children on a messaging app will be sentenced next month.
Gary Simmonds indicated guilty pleas to six counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child and three counts of making indecent photographs of a child when he appeared before magistrates in January.
The 38-year-old had made two category A indecent moving images of a child on April 27, 2024, and five category C and one category B indecent images of a child between April 28, 2024 and September 5, 2025.
He had also attempted to engage in sexual communications with six children aged under 16 on a messenger app between May 10 and May 24, 2025.
His conversations included descriptions such as "very hot", "sexy", asking for "naughty pics", and graphically describing sexual acts.
The case was adjourned for a pre-sentencing report and Simmonds, of Moorfield Street, Hereford, was released on bail.
He is scheduled for sentencing before Hereford magistrates on February 24.
