MICHAEL HAYES'S SHOCKING CRIME IN WARRINGTON: SEX OFFENDER ATTACKS HOSPITAL SECURITY GUARD

The assault was serious enough to warrant legal action and was part of a pattern of troubling behavior from Hayes.
Adding to the gravity of his misconduct, it emerged that just eight days prior to the hospital attack, Hayes had committed another criminal offence involving physical abuse against a man within Warrington.
This sequence of events underscored a period during which Hayes was engaged in multiple violations of the law within a short span of time.
Compounding his criminal conduct, Hayes was subject to post-sentence supervision—a legal requirement placed on certain offenders after serving custodial sentences—which he failed to fully comply with.
Specifically, he neglected to attend an important supervisory appointment and did not inform the authorities of his whereabouts as instructed, thereby breaching the conditions tied to his status as a registered sex offender.
Such breaches are taken very seriously, especially given the nature of his previous conviction.
Hayes appeared before Warrington Magistrates Court last month to face these charges.
During the hearing, he entered a guilty plea to several offences, including assault by beating on a healthcare worker, engaging in threatening or abusive behavior intended to instill fear, and failing to adhere to the terms of his post-custodial supervision.
The court was particularly concerned by the fact that Hayes was committing these offences while still under supervision, which demonstrated a flagrant disregard for the law and the safety of others.
The magistrates emphasized that Hayes’s actions warranted a strict response, noting the seriousness of offending during a period when he was legally monitored.
As a result, they sentenced him to 16 weeks in prison, a measure intended not only to punish his behaviour but also to protect the community from further incidents.
