Warrington man jailed for child sexual offenses

WARRINGTON MAN JAILED FOR CHILD SEXUAL OFFENSES

A paedophile has been sentenced after preying on a number of children.

Kenneth Shaw, 64, of Warrington, targeted four different youngsters during the 1970s, 80s and 90s, exposing himself and sexually assaulting them.

The children were all aged under 11, with the youngest being just three when she was assaulted.

At Liverpool Crown Court today, prosecutor Nicola Daly said Shaw was around 16 when he carried out his first attack on a girl in the 1970s.

Personal statements from the four victims, now adults, were read to the court.

One woman explained her lifelong trauma, suffering nightmares and fear around men, which affected her entire life and her parenting.

Another woman recounted feelings of shame, guilt, and the attempt to take her own life.

Shaw pleaded guilty to three counts of indecent assault, three counts of indecency with a child, and two counts of indecency of a male.

He was sentenced to six years in prison, an indefinite sexual harm prevention order, and lifetime registration on the Sex Offenders' Register.
