MERSEYSIDE MAN JAILED FOR VIOLENT SCREWDRIVER ATTACK ON PARTNER
Michael Harding, aged 34, was convicted of a prolonged and persistent attack on his partner, Katrine Johansen, at her home in New Brighton.
The court heard that Harding began attacking Ms.
Johansen following an argument, during which he threatened her with fists and grabbed her hair.
He then picked up a screwdriver and threatened to injure her before stabbing her on the head, leaving her scared and anxious in her own home.
The injuries included superficial wounds, two deep scratches, and swelling.
Harding also tried to blame the victim, claiming the incident was out of character and expressing remorse at court.
He was sentenced to 21 months in prison and a five-year restraining order was granted.
The judge remarked that alcohol played a role in his violent behavior, highlighting the severity of the attack against a vulnerable person.
