LIVERPOOL SEX OFFENDER GETS SUSPENDED SENTENCE AFTER VILE TRAIN AND STREET ASSAULTS
The offender, Michael Curoe, has committed multiple sexual offences as detailed in the court proceedings.
He was identified for sexual assault outside Baa Bar on Fleet Street, where he groped a man and subsequently made a series of inappropriate and sexualised comments towards a train worker, showing him explicit images of his genitals.
Despite being on a sexual offences protection order from Belfast, Curoe was suspected of further misconduct, including attempts to communicate with victims and showing explicit images on his phone.
His criminal record includes previous sexual assault in 2020 and drink driving in 2023.
During the court hearing, he admitted to sexual assault, harassment, sending explicit images with sexual intent, and breaching a sexual offences order.
Curoe was sentenced to an 18-month suspended prison term for two years, along with a 20-day rehabilitation and mental health treatment requirement.
The judge, Simon Medland KC, warned him to control his drinking and told him to 'keep his hands to himself.' Curoe also received a 10-year sex offenders register requirement and a 120-day order to control his alcohol consumption, requesting an alcohol abstinence tag.
The court's decision reflects the serious nature of his actions and previous convictions.
