MAN HANDED COMMUNITY ORDER FOR SHARING EXTREME ANIMAL PORNOGRAPHY VIA WHATSAPP
A man identified as Matthew Sexton appeared before Ipswich Crown Court on Thursday and was sentenced to a community order after being found in possession of extreme pornography depicting animals. It was revealed that Sexton, aged 33 and residing in Ewell Hall Chase, Kelvedon, had been involved in sharing these illegal images via a WhatsApp group.
The images were uncovered when police seized his mobile phone in 2023 during an unrelated investigation, which did not lead to further action on that matter.
In court, the judge, Recorder Samantha Presland, advised Sexton that his failure to challenge the individual who sent the images contributed to his legal trouble, stating that his 'silence' was problematic.
As a result, Sexton received an 18-month community order requiring him to perform 40 hours of unpaid work and up to 10 days of Rehabilitation Activity Requirements.
