During these chats, he believed he was communicating with another paedophile, but in reality, he was speaking with an undercover police officer.
The police investigation uncovered Jolley's intent to meet with the individual he thought was another paedophile, with the explicit aim of abusing the two-year-old son of the man he believed he was talking to.
Jolley's plans were laid out clearly during the conversations, which detailed his intentions to commit the heinous act.
On September 26, Jolley drove to Hale, where he met with the undercover officer.
During this meeting, Jolley openly discussed his plans to abuse the child, revealing a disturbing level of premeditation.
His actions led to his immediate arrest on suspicion of child sex offences.
The authorities also ordered Jolley to sign the sex offenders' register for life, marking a significant step in his ongoing legal consequences.
Today, in court, Jolley was handed a 40-month prison sentence for his crimes.
