COMMUNITY ORDER FOR CARLTON MAN CAUGHT WITH INDECENT PHOTOGRAPHS OF CHILDREN
A lonely man was told he was creating a market in "filth" after being caught again with indecent photographs of children.Matthew Cooper, 48, faced a judge at Nottingham Crown Court and was warned to expect prison if he does it again.
As part of a three-year community order, he must attend a programme to prevent a repeat as well as spending 20 days with probation officers to tackle other problems.
The court heard that he had a range of photographs and a 28-minute video which featured boys aged around 11 or 12.
Some victims were as young as six and included girls.
Judge John Burgess told him: "Those children are being abused because there is a market for this kind of filth.
You and everyone should remember that." Stuart Pattinson, prosecuting, said that police officers went to Cooper's home on September 27 last year after receiving information that the internet had been used to obtain indecent images of children.
Cooper told officers that he had "not actively searched." He said: "I am downloading film all the time." Cooper admitted downloading indecent photographs of children; having a prohibited image of a child; having extreme pornography.
The judge said a repeat would lead to custody, warning Cooper: "You must understand quite clearly what will happen - you will go straight to prison." "You are not going to get another chance.
Consider yourself very lucky."
