MARTYN REES FROM WOLSTANTON FOUND GUILTY OF HORRIFIC SEX OFFENCES IN STOKE-ON-TRENT

In a significant development at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court, Martyn Rees, a 37-year-old driving instructor from Dimsdale Parade West, Wolstanton, has been convicted on multiple counts of serious sexual offences, including the rape of a 14-year-old girl. Rees was found guilty of a total of 14 charges, which included the heinous act of raping a teenage girl. The court heard that Rees had picked up his young victim from a street in Stoke-on-Trent and then drove her around the city throughout the night. The assault culminated in him raping her while their vehicle was parked at an industrial estate, an act that has shocked the local community and raised serious concerns about safety and exploitation.

The jury also convicted Rees of several other serious offences. These included two counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child, one count of sexual assault, and sexual assault by penetration. Additionally, he was found guilty of attempting to commit sexual assault on two occasions. The court further established that Rees had been involved in the production of indecent photographs of a child, with six charges related to this crime. Moreover, he possessed extreme pornographic images, which added to the severity of his convictions.

Rees's arrest came in March of the previous year after a 14-year-old girl reported that she had been raped in Newcastle-under-Lyme. During the investigation, authorities uncovered further evidence on his phone, including footage of a teenager who was unconscious at the time of the assault, which Rees had recorded.
