MARTIN FULLER MINSTER CHILD PORN PERVERT SPARED JAIL AGAIN

In a case that has once again highlighted the ongoing issues surrounding individuals with a history of child exploitation, Martin Fuller, a 24-year-old man from Minster, has been handed a further suspended prison sentence after being found in possession of indecent images of children. The incident took place in August of the previous year, when police discovered a total of 89 indecent photographs and video clips on a computer located at his lodgings in Minster.

During the proceedings at Maidstone Crown Court, it was revealed that Fuller’s landlady had permitted him to use her computer without supervision, even during late-night hours. This arrangement continued until she discovered his criminal past and the child pornography files, which led her to ask him to leave her residence. The landlady was described as being extremely distressed and upset upon uncovering the material, which she found on the computer she had allowed Fuller to use.

Fuller, who does not have a fixed address, pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing indecent photographs of a child and three counts of making such images between January and August of the previous year. The police classified the images into levels of seriousness, with some rated as level one, others as level three, and the most serious as level four.

The court sentenced Fuller to 12 months in prison, suspended for two years, on the condition that he attend a Home Office-accredited Internet Sex Offender Treatment Programme. This decision comes despite Fuller’s prior criminal record, which includes a suspended sentence handed down in November 2009 for downloading child pornography. Additionally, he was subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) that prohibited him from owning a mobile phone with internet access or a camera.

Just days before the discovery of the images on his landlady’s computer, Fuller appeared at Canterbury Crown Court for breaching the terms of his SOPO. The court at that time imposed a three-month suspended sentence and ordered him to complete a sex offender treatment program. His defense lawyer, Andrew Johnson, argued that Fuller had not yet begun any treatment, emphasizing that he needed help to prevent further offending.

Following his arrest in August, Fuller was also charged with breaching his SOPO by accessing a computer. He admitted to this offence, and Canterbury Crown Court subsequently ordered him to serve a total of 15 months on a suspended sentence. Mr. Johnson informed the court that this period had expired in early April, and Fuller has since been held on remand at HMP Elmley, awaiting further proceedings.
