SHOCKING CRIME: MARTIN DRUCE OF LUTON JAILED FOR SEX OFFENCES AGAINST YOUNG GIRLS DURING LUTON CARNIVAL

In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Luton, a man identified as Martin Druce has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after committing heinous sexual offences against young girls during the Luton Carnival. The incident took place in May of the previous year, near a property situated close to the town centre, where Druce gained entry under false pretenses.

According to reports, Druce, aged 57 and residing on Fourth Avenue in Luton, approached the residence by telling the children present that he needed to use the toilet. This seemingly innocent excuse was a calculated move to gain access to the home. Inside, the situation took a sinister turn when the mother of one of the young girls was asleep upstairs, unaware of the unfolding events.

Once inside, Druce committed a series of disturbing acts, including indecently exposing himself to the two young girls. He then attempted to coerce them into engaging in sexual activity, actions that have left the victims and their families deeply traumatized. The community and authorities alike condemned the incident, emphasizing the severity of the crime.

Law enforcement officials from Bedfordshire Police swiftly responded to the incident. They utilized CCTV footage obtained from Luton Council and a nearby supermarket to track Druce’s movements. The footage placed him in the vicinity of the property and linked him to a vehicle, providing crucial evidence for the case.

Following the evidence collection, Druce was arrested and remanded into custody. He faced charges related to his actions, and after a thorough legal process, he appeared before Luton Crown Court. On Monday, March 14, Druce pleaded guilty to charges including trespass with intent to commit a sexual offence and two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

In a sentencing hearing, the court handed down an 11-year prison sentence, reflecting the gravity of his crimes. Detective Constable Mohammed Hussain, who led the investigation, expressed his condemnation of Druce’s actions, stating, “This was an abhorrent act against two innocent children which will no doubt have left them scarred.” The case has highlighted the ongoing need for vigilance and protective measures within the community to prevent such tragic incidents from recurring.
